xFruits version 2.0

xFruits version 2.0
We have the pleasure to introduce you the last achievements we have been doing this last summer to enhance our service of RSS mix.

New design, new ergonomy, and new features !
xFruits isn't just you usual RSS tool kit but also, and from now on, an RSS feed ecosystem.

In this brand new version, the xFruits social side has been completely revised. Thus, you can browse through the users xFruit's, and thanks to a performing search engine, find the community's most interesting feeds !

xFruits novelties

  • Tab « xFruits »
This tab lists all the users’ bricks. Every item of the feeds of these bricks is displayed and a simple click allows you to see all the content in the way of « start-pages » format.

  • Search engine
In « xFruits », launch a thorough search on brick content, by tag or by popularity.
Starting from the « xFruiters » tab, look for a user by name or by city for instance.

  • Improved ergonomics
A larger working space, a neutral design... Browse easily thanks to the addition of Ajax in all pages.

  • « Add To » button
For « RSS Aggregator » bricks. Publish in one click your xFruits to more than 50 readers !

  • Chinese language
A lot of xFruiters will be delighted ! We welcome this new community (approximately 15% of our users are Chinese).

Coming soon

In the next version, xFruits V 3.0, scheduled for November, we will especially develop the xFruits’ functional aspect.
On the agenda :
- statistics on your feeds
- Italian language version
- a very exciting new brick intended for watchers...

As always, do not hesitate to send your comments and feedback about this new version through our blog or by e-mail to our support.

Question: When it says "23 reads" in the top corner of the brick as pictured above, does that mean 23 subscribers to that feed or 23 "hits" or "views" as in hits to the webpage that is on?

Hi Bob,

It means that your feed was called 23 times the day before by feed readers, crawlers or direct calls.
It's similiar to "hits", not subscribers.

some ideas of mine:
- my ads on my aggregator
- all xfruits in one. why we need to create an xfruit for mobile, another for aggregator, another for pdf? just one xfruit and give us all.
- my ads on my feed and mobile and pdf?
- 'bookmark this' and 'digg it' and 'delicious' icon in each and every item in aggregator (see how planetplanet aggregator does it)
- tag clouds, like dennyhalim.suprglu.com
- delicious links

more ideas:
- a search form
- use our own subdomain or better yet our own domain name
- opml export

Some of the feeds in the RSS aggregator (public) are updating and some are not. Does one need to do any republishing once the thing is setup? Shouldn't they just update automatically?
Also my (private) RSS to PDF are not updating automatically. Should they be? Thanks in advance.

Still having trouble with the updating (RSS aggregator public) . It was working fine for a while, now the last two days it isn't updating at all. The private RSS to PDF have not updated in quite some time. Is there a glitch? Can I do something to fix it? Thanks in advance.
The upside is the double posts have stopped. :)
