RSS to MY BLOGxFruits
Sunday 24th June 2007
Our new brick RSS to MY BLOG exploits API technology of blog systems and CMS, enabling to copy the content of a RSS feed to your own blog or CMS. The number of publishable post has been voluntarily limited to 100 posts per day and per user. Moreover, the URL source, as well as the mention "published by xFruits.com", were added at the bottom of each article recopied to the targeted blog or CMS.
Thus, mashups of our bricks allow new functionalities making easier your survey work and its publication. Here some examples of mashups:
NB: we apologize for the low level of activity of xFruit blog, as well as we apologize for not answering to all your comments. As written in a recent post, we are working on advanced version of xFruits. Thanks for your understanding, your patience and the interest you place in this service ;-)

brick xfruits RSS to Voice
We have just integrated the most powerful brick of our service : the "RSS to VOICE" brick. This service has been developed by the VocalFruits service (http://www.vocalfruits.com. VocalFruits is an original service which enables you to compose your own vocal information system in a very simple way. It's a "text to speech" podcast.
How use it ? Very simply. Put the RSS feed and you will obtain a MP3 file for each article of this feed. The result is almost immediate and high quality speech ! The following languages are available : English, French and Spanish. Your account will be credited with 100 vocal units! This will allow you to discover the various ways to use VocalFruits : http://www.vocalfruits.com.

Still alive !xFruits
Friday 02nd March 2007
Dear xFruiters,
first we want to apologize for not updating before this blog (no post since November 24, 2006). We have met some problems but we are back now. We hope to continue to satisfy you and contribute to organise your information system ! After further thoughts on the suggested services, the reinforcement of the team, its organization ... we have decided to propose xFruits to the Contest of Innovative and Technological Companies of the French Ministry of Research and Technology. Indeed, we wish to offer, in addition to the free service (which will continue to evolve by proving new functionalities), a paying service for companies that want to organize a collective intelligence on a platform. The launching of the next free brick is programmed for Monday March 12. Keep this date in mind ;-)

Three new bricks !xFruits
Friday 24th November 2006
xFruits gets expanded: RSS to MAIL, RSS to OPML and OPML to MOBILE have just been added.
The first one, the RSS to MAIL, foreseen since xFruits launch, was long awaited since it gives you the possibility of creating an alert of your RSS feed by mail. Like a newsletter, you receive the last published articles hourly or daily updated (in this case, sending is foreseen every morning at 8 o’clock.). On this subject, in the Profile section, enter your time zone here and now ;) Second brick : RSS to OPML. Mainly intended for aggregators and RSS feeds, this brick offers you the possibility of adding and classifying your favorite RSS feeds to get an OPML file, similar to a feed directory. The result will be useful in the xFruits AGGREGATOR brick to compile your news! Finally, the OPML to MOBILE brick will help you to read all your news sources from your mobile. Mix your different sources from an OPML file and then browse the different articles of each RSS feed. You’ll see that browsing is intuitive and the loading time very short, the whole being compatible with mobile browsers. These are the novelties for December. We are working actively in the development of new bricks that will be added next month to the already well furnished list of our RSS toolbox. So, rendezvous in January…

New brick : RSS to PDFxFruits
Monday 26th June 2006
From now on, you can create a PDF document from a RSS feed thanks to the new RSS to PDF brick.
This brick offers several advantages: - Original layout adaptation for printing documents - Special characters restitution - Alphabets display (Latin, Japanese, simplified Chinese, Cyrillic, Greek ...) - Images display Articles selected from the bookmarks with the possibility of using three different ways of selection (date, article, source - in the case of an aggregator) This brick, as well as the other xFruits’ services, allows you, for instance, to offer a PDF version of your blog, in the same way as for the RSS to Web bricks, or the RSS to Mobile.

GeolocationxFruits
Thursday 15th June 2006
Thanks to the Google Maps' API, the xFruiters community is geographically represented on a map of the world.
We invite the xFruiters to input the name of their cities so they can be displayed on it. In the page "My xFruits", click on the profile section (your photo) to have access to your account configuration. We have already implemented an autocomplete system that involves the program predicting the name of the city (according to the country) that the user wants to type in without the user actually typing it in completely, and thus, automatically saving the latitude and longitude data. However, not all the cities are recognized. In this case, the "Geolocalization" link will let you input manually your latitude and longitude data. The map is being filled gradually ! Go to the xFruiters page to see the users that are the closest to you …

xFruits Japanese versionxFruits
Thursday 08th June 2006
We've just opened the Japanese version of the xFruits’ interface. One of our main concerns is to make the use of the xFruits as comfortable as possible by offering the service in the users' different mother tongues.
The Far East represents at the present time 25% of the visits. Several articles have been dedicated to xFruits on Asian blogs and portals, thus, a Chinese version will be online soon. You won’t have any display problems, especially speaking of Tags, due to the existence of different languages, since we will introduce a language selection. We’d like to thank our Japanese friends from BluePond who have made this translation.
